Vertical & Horizontal Stabilizer

The Vertical & Horizontal Stabilizer VI has been redesigned to address previous challenges and enhance performance. The initial version failed the control surface hinge stress test, prompting a comprehensive redesign. The new version will feature a full wing 3D printed construction using a combination of carbon fiber filament and lightweight PLA, ensuring a balance of strength and reduced weight. The print will utilize a 20% infill to maintain structural integrity while minimizing weight. Slots have been specifically designed within the wings to accommodate electronic wiring, ensuring a clean and efficient setup. The control surface hinge, a critical component for stability and maneuverability, will be sourced from a third-party manufacturer and made from durable aluminium. The electronic system will mirror that of the main wing, incorporating one 20kg high-torque servo for each control surface, totaling three servos, to ensure maximum performance and responsiveness. This updated design aims to improve reliability and performance, making the Vertical & Horizontal Stabilizer VI a robust and efficient component for maintaining flight stability and control.
